ABOUT ZAN
Zan launched his studio in 2021 following a career in communications and public relations where he advocated for electric cooperatives and credit unions. He took the opportunity to step back from the work-a-day routine of office life to focus on his passion for capturing and sharing images of the natural beauty that exists across America and around the world.

After graduating from Rhodes College, Zan spent nearly a decade working as a press aide on Capitol Hill and several congressional campaigns before moving to trade association work.
He bought his first camera, a Nikon FM, after a high school-era summer job teaching sailing on the Rappahannock River near Irvington, Virginia. Back in his hometown of Davidson, North Carolina he and a friend set up a darkroom and practiced developing film and making prints.
A resident of Falls Church, Virginia, these days you'll find him exploring the endless shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay.
